Lori Holshouser
Agency Owner
I gained my interest in the insurance industry from my late father who was a life insurance agent for many years. I obtained my Life/Health license in 1989 and later my Property and Casualty. I have held many positions in all aspects of the insurance industry. From behind the scenes to Corporate to Individual Sales and Management. I was recruited to the Holshouser Agency in 2019 as their Director of Operations and purchased the Agencies October, 2025.
My job is to ensure that the offices are running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. That entails a lot of things including coaching, training, continual learning on my part to help our employees be successful, staying compliant, problem solving, marketing and stepping in when there are difficult situations that arise.
I had previously represented Allstate for over 14 years before moving to the brokerage side of insurance. Although I enjoyed that, I have always felt a certain loyalty to Allstate. I believe in their products and the sincere way in which they do business.
As the agency owner, I don’t get to interact on the sales side of things as often as I used to, but I am also happy to be helping the younger generations of insurance professionals become outstanding salesmen/women and unbelievably talented customer service representatives.
Outside the office I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends, and spoiling our dog and two cats. We love boating, cooking and watching football, baseball, golf and Nascar. We are also big DIYers so there’s always a project going on at the house!

I grew up in the Metro-East and began my insurance career at the young age of 19. I have been a part of the Holshouser Agency since 2014 and absolutely love my job! I am licensed in both Property/Casualty and Life/Health. I feel that neither is more important than the other, as protection for all areas of their lives are important.
Throughout my years in insurance, my number one goal has always been to ensure my customers are confident in the coverage we are providing them with and that they are properly protected in all aspects of their life. Because of that, I am lucky to have long-standing customers that believe in me and our agency. When I receive a referral, I can’t tell you how happy that makes me to know I must be doing something right!
Outside of work, my husband and 2 kids, 2 dogs and a bunny, love to go camping, hiking, fishing and traveling. Both the kids have Select baseball teams, so we travel a lot on the weekends with that as well. Outside of my family, in the rare moments I get some alone time, I love thrift shopping and antiquing.

I am originally from Taylorville, Il but have lived in the Metro-East since 2011. I am both Property/Casualty and Life/Health licensed. That enables me to help my clients ensure they are properly covered in all aspects of their lives. I started my career with the Holshouser Agency in 2015 after getting to know the previous owners from being their server at my family’s restaurant. They saw something in me that made them think I would do great in the insurance industry, and I am thankful they did! I thoroughly enjoy my role at the Holshouser Agency.
I am lucky enough to speak both English and Spanish fluently so I can help my clients from both cultures, which is very inspiring to me. Helping clients to understand insurance and what they need to protect not only their assets, but their family is my number one goal.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and new baby boy and our dog. My wife and I both come from large families, and we spend a lot of time with them. We love watching and participating in sports, trying new cuisine, dancing and learning new things.

I grew up in the Metro-East, except for a short time when I was young, when I lived in Florida. As a young athlete I was lucky enough to play High School and College football. The previous owners and I were acquainted through sports and our families knew each other from living in the same neighborhood. After a couple of years of discussing the opportunities available at the Holshouser Agency, I decided to give it a try at just 19 years old. So, in 2015, I began my career in insurance and have loved every minute of it!
The greatest thing about my job is that no two days are the same. Some days I may be helping new customers get the protection they need and the next day I may be talking to existing customers on changes that may be happening in their lives and what we need to do to protect them. And the next may be all about helping our customers with claims and making sure they understand the process. At the end of the day, when I go home, I always feel that I have helped someone, and to me that is the most important thing.
Outside of work, I am still very active in sports, and I love hanging out with my friends and family. My brother, who races motorcycles, and I love to tinker on old bikes when he is in the area. I am a huge movie buff! There’s nothing better than me and my dogs relaxing on the couch and watching a movie. But, when the suns out, you’ll most likely find me playing sports or riding my motorcycle!

Senior Licensed Sales Specialist
As early as I can remember, I have always had a passion for numbers. I recall winning a lot of matches in Around the World in elementary school, where it all started! Taking that with me into my adulthood, I soon found a passion for hospitality, and finance which led me to where I am today.
I am a fully licensed insurance producer. Watching family and friends struggle growing up, I knew the right place for me would be helping those understand the need for a safety net, if you will. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy meeting everyone here at this agency, I also found this to be a family-oriented team that would be a perfect fit. I have always been very passionate about serving and helping those in need. Everyone here is on the same page. My goal is to establish a relationship with customers and help them build the coverage that properly protects them and their loved ones. Aside from growing up in Collinsville, this made Agency and team a perfect “work home” for me.
When I am not working with customers my outside activities keep me busy. I coach youth football, basketball, baseball and a few others here and there. I played the same sports as a child and get to coach my kids now. I also cook nearly every single day, which is another passion of mine. Sometimes the neighbors will give me a call or just walk over and ask if I cooked. My family and I are very involved in the community and we take pride in that. We currently live in a small town called Breese, IL, close to Carlyle Lake. You will where this is if you like Ski soda, and Frosty. If we aren’t at a sports event, or other commitments that keep us busy, we are researching restaurants or binge watching something on streaming services.
Kristin Newsome
Senior Licensed Sales Specialist
My name is Kristin Newsome and I am a fully licensed insurance producer! I am originally from Atlanta, GA and my education is in Business Management with a Certificate in Marketing from the University of Phoenix.
It is my goal and passion to help customers every day, by helping them to understand the necessity and value of having the proper insurance coverages in place to protect their family and the assets that they have worked so hard for.
In my free time I enjoy yearly morning walks with both of my dogs, Justice (a Standard Poodle) and Pugsley (a Miniature Dachshund). I also have a great love for cooking which I share with my mother, which we spend a lot of time together developing recipes on the weekends.
Tamma Hunt
Senior Licensed Sales Specialist
Growing up in southern Missouri on the Current River, with my dad being in the insurance industry for 35 years, I think that pretty much led me to attend Three Rivers Community College and then begin my career in insurance. I have actively worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years, and I still love what I do. In 2015, I found an opportunity with the Holshouser Agency to become their Service Specialist. I help our clients process claims, make payments, assist with changes and just about anything else they need. I also track the new policies and help customers understand any changes or underwriting stipulations that may occur during the issuing of a policy.
I wear many hats in the agency and that is what I love about my position here. No two days are the same and I never know which hat to put on in the morning! I love the opportunity to work with our clients and the diversity in the people I interact with makes it fun. It enables me to learn new things every single day!
Outside the office I enjoy gardening, swimming, baseball, and spending time with my husband and cat watching movies. We also enjoy trying new restaurants. I am lucky enough to have a family cabin on the river and enjoy many weekends there with my nieces and nephews!
Kelly Hanas
Senior Licensed Sales Specialist
I have worked in the insurance industry for many years, as my family owned/operated an insurance brokerage firm. In 2019 I decided to take a different route and went to work for the Holshouser Agency in my current role. I thoroughly enjoy working with our team and our clients. I get to interact with clients all day whether it is by phone or in person.
Billing and claims are my specialty, and I also do policy reviews to ensure that the current policy coverage is still what fits the customer’s needs. The reviews, in my opinion, are one of the most important thing we do. So many things change each year and sometimes it’s not something our customers think affects their insurance, and that’s where I come in.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my daughter and my new husband. Friends and family are important to us, so we try to spend as much time with them as possible. I am an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and a huge St. Louis Blues fan.
